Billy Hoyes bought his first BTR – the one-off Gasser DH prototype – from its original owner, and joined BTR as an ambassador before embarking on a season in Whistler. On his return, we decided to build him a new custom Pinner.
Billy is the driving force behind the Gasser Diaries project, covering his adventures on his bike around the UK and beyond.

How did you hear about BTR?
I saw the Ranger whilst scrolling through some bike website, and instantly loved them and thought the steel frames were sick. My bikes tend to break a lot so I thought this would’ve been perfect for me! You’ve got to have some hard cases to break a BTR!
What do you do to improve your riding?
I like to ride to ride to enjoy it and have fun instead of trying to progress every day. I suppose the more stoked you get on it the faster you progress!
What’s the best thing about riding bikes?
The best thing about it is probably the places it takes you; there are some incredible trails around Whistler that have some sick views! Also just getting out and getting loose with your mates is always fun.
Where do you most want to ride, but haven’t (yet) been?
That’s a tough one for sure!! There’s so many places that look sick. Bali Bike Park in Indonesia is top of the list though!
