Q. Do steel frames need any special maintenance?

A.

Steel frames only need preventative maintenance to halt the progress of rust. We specifically build our frames to minimise the ingress of water, but we still recommend you periodically check for water, and spray a water dispersant such as GT85 or WD40 into the seat tube, BB and head tube of your frame. The following table shows our recommended intervals:

Recommended intervals for checking moisture levels inside the frame

SEAT TUBE2 Weeks1 Month
BOTTOM BRACKET1 Month2 Months
HEAD TUBE1 Months2 Months

Please note that this is a guideline only; it is your responsibility to ensure that your frame is kept clean, dry, and rust-free!
